Port Management

SysTrack collects the ports that applications connect to. Use the Port Management settings of a role to set how often port data is collected and how long it is kept on systems that use the role.

To open these settings:

Go to Configure > System Configuration > Roles.
Click the lock icon in the upper-right corner to unlock Configure for editing.
Select the role.
From the Additional Settings list, select Port Management.

Change the settings as required:
1. Application Exclusion List is the list of applications whose port data is not collected. It is empty by default.
2. Enable reverse DNS lookup looks up the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for each collected IP address. Selected by default. If you clear it, the FQDN is not determined from the collected IP address.
3. Port data collection interval (mins) sets how often port data is collected. The default is 30 minutes.
4. Port data purge interval (hours) is how often data older than the retention period is purged from the database. The default is 24 hours.
5. Port data retention Period (days) is how many days port data is kept. The default is 30 days, and the range is 7 to 90. A shorter retention period keeps less port history.
  WARNING: Systems that use the role delete port data older than the retention period. If you shorten the period, the older data is deleted soon after the systems read the new configuration.
6. UDP Application Exclude List is the list of applications whose User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port information is not collected. By default, it lists iexplore.exe, outlook.exe, searchprotocolhost.exe, svchost.exe:localservice, and svchost.exe:networkservice.

After you change a setting, click Save Changes.
