Learn how to access SysTrack Configure, obtain editing control, and manage configuration changes safely in a multi-admin environment. This video also explains when to use the Admin Panel versus Configure.
Video Transcript
SysTrack Configure is where administrators customize and manage many of the behind-the-scenes settings that control how SysTrack behaves. This is where you configure sensors, notifications, automations, and many of the features throughout SysTrack.
To better understand the concepts and best practices for using this tool, we recommend completing the SysTrack Administrator course in Lakeside Academy.
Some administrative settings are managed outside of Configure. For tenant-wide options such as user security, role-based access, and single sign-on (SSO), open the Admin Panel by selecting the gear icon at the bottom of the navigation menu.
Before making changes in Configure, you need to obtain the editing lock. The lock indicator in the upper-right corner of the page shows who currently has editing control.
If the lock is available, simply select it to become the Editing User. Because Configure allows only one editor at a time, everyone else will have read-only access until the lock is released.
If another administrator is already editing, their name appears beside the lock. You can request that they release editing control, or, if necessary, force the lock to transfer to your session. The current editor receives a notification identifying who is requesting access or who took over.
You can also use the Last Edit Time to help determine whether the current editor is still actively working. If no changes have been made for some time, they may have stepped away, making it appropriate to request or transfer the editing lock.
