Create a multi‑sensor notification that alerts you when Microsoft Teams hangs occur at the same time as persistent latency issues.
Video Transcript
Sensor notifications can be configured to activate based on multiple sensors and even specific instances of certain sensors. For example, suppose remote workers have been complaining about Microsoft Teams hanging throughout the workday. You want to be notified when Teams is hanging at the same time that latency is suffering.
From the Configure Notifications page, click the plus symbol at the top of the page to create a new notification. Name this notification Teams Issues.
In the Sensors menu, select the Applications category, then select Application Hang. The instance dropdown will appear, allowing you to select the application you want to monitor. Start typing Teams here to filter only instances that have fired in the environment within the last 30 days. Select MSTeams.exe, and then click the Add button.
This will monitor for application hangs, but you still want to correlate this with latency problems. Change the category to End User Experience and select Persistent Latency Issues. Then click Add.
Indicate your activation count, either by number of systems or percentage of systems. Add the recipients and click Save Notification.
This will now send a notification when the application hang for Teams and persistent latency issues sensors are detected simultaneously during the same reporting period on the number or percentage of machines indicated in the activation count criteria. All criteria must be met for the notification to be sent.
If you want to monitor application hangs or application faults separately, create two different notifications.
