Web Apps Tool
Resolve's Web Apps tool gives you in-depth data from URLs that have been declared as web apps so that you can use SysTrack to troubleshoot problems with web-based applications from the perspective of an end-user.
Detailed data that appears on this page includes number of visits, click-to-render time, processing time, round-trip time, browser type, and browser version.
To get started with this tool, select a focus system, configure a Time Window and Focus Time for the data that displays on this page, and then proceed with the following sections.
Web App Performance
The Web App Performance section displays charts that vary based on the selections you make in the Web Apps section of the tool.
Web Apps
The Web Apps section includes a list box in which you can select from three perspectives: Performance, Errors, and Usage.
A second list box enables you to select whether to view data for All Web Apps during the specified time period (the default), or you can select an individual web app to see its performance, error, or usage data.
After you make selections in the Web Apps section, the Web App Performance section updates its chart to match your selections.
TIP: If you select Errors or Usage in the list box in the Web Apps section, the title of the Web App Performance section changes to Web App Errors or Web App Usage. If you select an individual web app rather than All Web Apps, the title also includes the name of the app you selected. Also, if you select an individual web app, the chart changes from a bar chart to a time or event chart.
When you select an individual web app from the list box, you can see spikes and trends more clearly.
Data points are averaged based on the time window you select, with 30 days averaged daily and a single day averaged in 15-minute increments.
NOTE: The page where you declare Web Apps in SysTrack is at Configure > Web Apps. The page is visible only on SysTrack Global Masters. Inheritance of specified URLs to Regional Masters may take up to 24 hours. For more information about declaring web apps in SysTrack, see Web Apps in Configure.
Performance
If you select Performance in the first list box and All Web Apps in the second list box, declared web apps appear as a bar chart in the Web App Performance section, with performance data for each listed in the Web Apps section. You see the following data on the chart:
-
Average Click-to-Render Time is the average of all click-to-render times. Click-to-render is the total elapsed time from when a request is sent from the client to the server until the response is rendered, including the time required for the server to respond and the time required for the client to process. In other words, Click-to-render equals Latency plus Processing.
-
Average Round-Trip Time is the average of all round-trip times for a given web app. Round-trip time is the elapsed time from when a request is sent from the client to the server until the server responds.
-
Average Processing Time is the average of all processing times for each web app listed. Processing is the time it takes the client to manage the response from the server.
Errors
If you select Errors in the first list box and All Web Apps in the second list box, Errors appear as a bar chart in the Web App Performance section, showing the number of errors associated with each of the declared web apps. The Web Apps section also lists the Number of Errors for each declared web app, with up to three of the most common HTML error codes.
If you select an individual web app, you see the error code and description associated with each visit in the chart.
Usage
If you select Usage in the first list box and All Web Apps in the second list box, Usage appears as a bar chart with the number of times each web app was visited, the total focus time spent on each web app page, and the average focus time per visit.
If you select an individual web app, you see its usage history as a chart. The Web Apps section lists the full URL, browser, and version used, as well as the focus time spent on each visit.
