11.1 Agent Release Notes

IMPORTANT: This is subject to change up until the actual release.

This agent release includes new features, bug fixes and enhancements to the product.

Important

  • Supported and Tested - Full Support for Linux: As of this release, the following Linux distributions with the SysTrack Linux Agent have been fully tested and are officially supported:

    • Ubuntu

      • 20.04

      • 22.04

      • 24.04

    • Red Hat

      • 8.8

      • 8.10

      • 9.2

      • 9.4

    • Rocky Linux

      • 8.10

      • 9.4 (Support for 9.4 ends November 2024)

  • Limited Support for Other Linux Distributions: Limited support means that while specific Linux distributions are not fully tested prior to release, we will provide assistance to ensure compatibility with our product. However, any issues found in these versions, may take longer to resolve, and there may be limitations compared to fully supported versions. The level of support for any Linux versions is contingent on the current support provided by the manufacturers.

  • The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dependencies included with the agent installer for Windows x86 have been updated to the 2015-2022 version (14.38.33135.0). The binaries are included in the agent installer. Agents upgraded from the SysTrack console will not automatically upgrade their binaries until the next agent release.

  • We discontinued support for version 10.2.1 agents on June 26, 2024

  • We discontinued support for version 10.1 agents on February 27, 2024.

  • We discontinued support for version 10.2 agents on April 24, 2024.

  • For the 11.0 release we recommended upgrading your agent. This updated agent included a change to make sure that custom configurations do not revert to a default state and remove your custom configuration settings on some machines in your environment.

  • A known issue exists where you will be unable to trigger an update from the SysTrack console for systems that were installed with a fresh 10.12 Windows agent. The issue does not affect any system upgraded from another previous version. It is recommended that you choose one of the following options:

    • Use your external deployment tool to install the SysTrack 11.1 agent on the affected systems.

    • Complete a manual install of the SysTrack 11.1 agent on the affected systems.

    • If you are unable to use these methods, reach out to your Customer Success representative for an automation-based workaround.

      NOTE: If you are a customer that uses your own deployment tools to manage agents, you are not affected by this issue.

New

Sign Actions with Certificates

For SysTrack Actions that you create, you can sign them using your private key and a certificate issued from a trusted certificate authority (CA,) and your own . This functionality allows you to revoke the certificate at any time, immediately preventing the action from running on endpoints when necessary.

NOTE: This certificate signing feature is compatible with SysTrack Cloud and SysTrack On-Premises.

Entra ID Data Collection for macOS

On Apple macOS systems, SysTrack now supports the collection of Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) user information, similar to Windows systems. This functionality applies to macOS devices with Platform SSO configured using Entra ID, which ensures consistent identity-related data collection across platforms. Data collection will only occur if both Platform SSO and Office 365 integration (with Entra ID credentials) are enabled.

AWS and Azure Virtual Machine Detection

This release adds support to detect AWS virtual machines (VM) as virtualized environments. With this update, SysTrack can now identify and categorize instances running in Amazon EC2 and Azure Virtual Machines.

VPN Data Collection Update

This update improves VPN visibility by switching from Network Interface Counters to Network Adapter Counters, which captures both physical and virtual adapters, including VPN connections. Only active adapters with non-zero bandwidth are collected, which ensures relevant data is collected and made available in Resolve for better VPN monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • In the Proactive IT DEX pack, SASFWPATCHES collection does not fail to update. (Case 6470)

  • Focus, Active, and Total times condense properly. (Case 4843, 4992)

  • InTune Incorrect AAD Tenant ID successfully reports data. (Case 5083)

  • Agent install for Server 2016 Core installs without an error. (Case 5691)

  • LSI Agent does not crash on multiple systems. (Case 5508)

  • Primary keys have been added to prevent duplicate record insertion on SACRASHDMP and other tables. (Case 5429)

  • The correct data shows in the Password Age column of the User Security dashboard. (Case 7806)

  • The logo shows in the TrayApp. (Case 6628)

  • If the database size before upgrade is greater than 2 GB, you can zip the database file prior to deletion and it will backup the original database. (Case 6838)

  • Systems have data on the Visualizer > Computer Concerns page. (Case 4180)
