The Performance: GPU alarms monitor the health and performance of the graphics processing unit (GPU). This article lists each alarm with what it monitors and its factory defaults.
The Performance: GPU category is on the Alarms tab of a role (Configure > System Configuration > Roles). To turn these alarms on and change their limits, times, and profiles, see Configure Alarms in a Role.
In the example alarm configuration called out below: If the GPU temperature is at or above 70° Celsius for 120 seconds a Yellow level alarm is triggered. If the GPU temperature is at or above 90° Celsius for 240 seconds a Red level alarm is triggered.

Performance GPU Alarms and Defaults
The Default column shows the factory values. A role can change them. For some GPU alarms, such as Temperature GPU (°C), the alarm is triggered if the value is at or above the limit. For others, such as Fan RPM, the alarm is triggered if the value is at or below the limit.
Alarm | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
Fan Level | Monitors the operational health level of the GPU fan. | Off. Yellow 2 for 120 s, Red 3 for 240 s. |
Fan RPM | Monitors the rotating speed (measured in revolutions per minute) of the GPU fan. | Off. Yellow 500 for 120 s, Red 100 for 240 s. |
Memory Used Bytes (B) | Monitors the number of bytes of memory the GPU card is using. | Off. Yellow 1000000000 for 120 s, Red 2000000000 for 240 s. |
Memory Used Percentage (%) | Monitors the percentage of available memory the GPU card is using. | Off. Yellow 80 for 120 s, Red 95 for 240 s. |
Number of Applications | Monitors the number of applications currently using the GPU. | Off. Yellow 8 for 120 s, Red 10 for 240 s. |
Power State | Monitors the power state of the GPU. A GPU can be in one of 16 power states (but not all cards support all 16 states). Values are on a scale in which 0 indicates using the most power and 15 indicates using the least power. | Off. Yellow 2 for 120 s, Red 3 for 240 s. |
Temperature Board (°C) | Monitors the temperature (in degrees Celsius) of the GPU mother board. | Off. Yellow 70 for 120 s, Red 90 for 240 s. |
Temperature GPU (°C) | Monitors the temperature (in degrees Celsius) of the GPU. | Off. Yellow 70 for 120 s, Red 90 for 240 s. |
Temperature Memory (°C) | Monitors the temperature (in degrees Celsius) of the GPU memory chip. | Off. Yellow 70 for 120 s, Red 90 for 240 s. |
Temperature Power Supply (°C) | Monitors the temperature (in degrees Celsius) of the GPU power supply. | Off. Yellow 70 for 120 s, Red 90 for 240 s. |
Thermal Level | Monitors the health level of the GPU temperature 0 = unknown 1 = normal 2 = warning 3 = critical | Off. Yellow 2 for 120 s, Red 3 for 240 s. |
Usage Bus (%) | Monitors the GPU bus usage percentage (between 0 and 100%). | Off. Yellow 80 for 120 s, Red 95 for 240 s. |
Usage Frame Buffer (%) | Monitors the GPU frame buffer usage percentage (between 0 and 100%). The frame buffer is an area of memory used to hold the frame of data that is continuously being sent to the screen. | Off. Yellow 80 for 120 s, Red 95 for 240 s. |
Usage GPU (%) | Monitors the GPU usage percentage (between 0 and 100%). | Off. Yellow 80 for 120 s, Red 95 for 240 s. |
Usage Video (%) | Monitors the GPU video usage percentage (between 0 and 100%). | Off. Yellow 80 for 120 s, Red 95 for 240 s. |
