This article describes changes that require an agent upgrade. To benefit from the features, improvements, and fixes in this release, upgrade your SysTrack agents.

11.9.0.00101

New

Process Tree Collection

The agent now collects process tree data on Windows, macOS, and Linux systems and stores it in the new SAPROCESSTREE table. Each row represents a top-level process and its combined resource usage, including all of its child processes. A companion table, SAPROCESSTREEMEMBER, records each process in a tree, along with its parent process ID and the times it joined and left the tree. Process tree collection runs alongside SAAPP collection to limit additional load on the agent. This data is not yet visualized in SysTrack. Support for viewing it is planned for a future release.

Device Hardware Serial Number Reporting

The agent now reads the hardware serial number of the device on Windows, macOS, and Linux systems at startup and reports it each time it connects. Existing devices receive their serial number on their next connection. If the serial number changes, for example after a motherboard replacement or re-image, the stored value updates to match. Placeholder values reported by some firmware and VMs are ignored. Devices that connect through a proxy hub don't report a serial number.

VPN Tunnel Interface Collection on macOS

On macOS, the agent now collects VPN tunnel interfaces as part of network adapter inventory, letting you see whether a device is connecting over VPN. Each tunnel gets its own entry with a distinct description along with network performance and connection history data. Network utilization is not available for tunnel interfaces.

Fixed

  • Network adapter inventory on Windows no longer silently drops the row for an adapter when two adapters on the same machine share a MAC address.
