This video demonstrates how to view problems on a system at a point in the past using Resolve's Black Box feature.
Video Transcript
The Black Box data recorder is typically the primary tool used for root cause analysis, as it allows you to go back in time and see exactly what was happening on a system during a specific period when issues occurred.
Because SysTrack collects detailed data every 15 seconds for the first 72 hours, you can view a highly granular picture of system behavior over the past three days.
The Time Window at the top of the Black Box can be adjusted to focus on different periods, and the graph below reflects the selected impact type, such as CPU usage, showing percentages and duration when that data is chosen.
If you return to the Health view and select a different impact type, the Black Box graph updates accordingly.
Another key feature is the red focus line, which allows you to pinpoint the exact moment an issue occurred based on user reports or visible activity spikes.
Clicking on a spike moves the focus line and updates all related data below to match that moment in time, and you can also click and drag within the Black Box graph to zoom in on a specific problem area for more detailed analysis.
