Learn how to organize systems using static and dynamic groups to simplify analysis and reporting across your environment.
Video Transcript
The Groups page allows you to organize systems into collections that can be referenced in SysTrack's analytical tools.
SysTrack Groups, also called system groups, make it easier to focus on specific subsets of your environment, such as a department, location, hardware type, or other criteria that help you analyze your systems.
There are two types of SysTrack Groups. Static Groups contain systems that are manually selected and remain unchanged until updated. Dynamic Groups use SQL queries to automatically include systems that match defined conditions. Each time the system group is selected in a SysTrack tool, the SQL will run to create an up-to-date list of systems.
System groups are designed for organization and analysis. If you need to control which systems SysTrack users can see, use System Contexts instead.
For more detailed instructions on creating and managing Groups, including defining Dynamic Group queries, refer to the SysTrack documentation.
