Create a Configuration Rule for a Single System

Prev Next

This video demonstrates how to create a configuration rule to assign a configuration to a system.

Video Transcript

This video describes how to create a configuration rule that assigns a particular configuration to a system. Users must have the necessary credentials and permissions to make these changes.

SysTrack allows for assigning a configuration rule that can be applied to a specific system. This is achieved by using a SQL query executed on a daily frequency to automate the assignment of a specific configuration to a machine.

From the Configure page, navigate to System Configuration, Assignments, and then click on the Config Rules tab. Click on the plus icon to add a rule and open a window for the SQL query.

The example query filters a system that uses a specific IP address. Assigning a configuration against the rule will automate assignment of the machines that match the rule.
