This video demonstrates how to create a basic SysTrack dashboard by querying data, displaying it in a grid, and adding synchronized charts using Dashboard Builder.

To start a new dashboard, click the Create a New Dashboard button. In the Dashboard Builder, provide a name and click OK. The first step in creating a dashboard is to get the data with a Query Data block. This block retrieves data from the SysTrack database using a SQL query and makes it available in the dashboard. Drag the Query Data block from the toolbox into the workspace.

In the Object tab in the properties pane, rename the block and optionally provide a description. Enter or paste a SQL statement into the query field. If needed, use the Expand Query Box arrow to enlarge the query field. Click Apply to save your changes. The next step is to add a way to visualize the data. In this example, we will use a grid. Drag the Grid block from the toolbox into the workspace. Link the query with the grid by dragging from the Query Data block's output port to the Grid block's input port. This will create a connector between the two blocks and tells Dashboard Builder that the grid should get its data from the linked query. Click Apply to save your changes.

We now have a very simple dashboard in place. To view this dashboard, click the Display icon. The grid appears in the Dashboard Viewer with the data you specified in the SQL query. We can resize the grid to better see the data.

To return to the Dashboard Builder, click the Settings button, then the Edit Dashboard button. Using the same dashboard from the previous example, let's drag a Chart block from the toolbox onto the workspace. Link the chart and the Query Data blocks by dragging from the Query Data block's output port to the Chart block's input port. Notice that this is the same query that is connected to the grid. By doing this, the data in both the grid and chart are synchronized.

Select a chart type from the dropdown list. In this example, we will choose Column. Specify the data columns to use for the category and series. The columns available in the dropdown lists are determined by the SQL query you used in the Query Data block. Optionally enter labels for the X and Y axes. Click Apply to save your changes.

Now, use the Viewer to see your chart.
