Learn how Configurations combine one or more Roles into deployable packages that determine how SysTrack operates on monitored systems.
Video Transcript
The Configurations page is where Roles are added to configurations.
A Role defines a set of monitoring, collection, and behavior settings. A Configuration packages one or more of those Roles so they can be applied across the computing environment. Configurations can include both factory and custom Roles, allowing you to customize monitoring for different types of devices or use cases.
A Configuration compiles the settings defined in its attached Role or Roles to determine how SysTrack collects data and behaves on a system. Configurations are then assigned to systems through the Assignments page.
Understanding the relationship between Roles and Configurations is fundamental to administering SysTrack. Therefore, we recommend completing the SysTrack Administrator course in Lakeside Academy
