What’s New?

Improvements to Self-Help App

  • To boost user confidence, the icons, logos, and title/subtitle text for Self-Help can now be customized to match an organization’s identity and branding.

  • For increased visibility and adoption, Self-Help can be configured to launch from a desktop icon or the Start menu.

  • IT administrators can now reduce unnecessary tickets by having Self-Help hide the Detected Issues tab or the Tools tab based on a role in Configure.

  • The SysTrack Self-Help application will no longer display co-workers affected and health score.

Web Apps Enhancements

  • Data for individual declared web apps is now graphed over time, including click-to-render, round-trip time, processing time, errors, and web app usage.

  • Certain Resolve > Web Apps columns, tooltips, and graph labels have been renamed for clarity, and the tab-consolidating Time at URL column has been removed from Resolve > Web Performance.

AppVision Improvements

  • To help eliminate any confusion, a default Time Window of 30 days for AppVision faults data has been instituted, and the number of application faults is no longer displayed at the bottom of the App Fault Details pane.

  • An export function has been added to AppVision’s pop-ups, making the data easier to work with. Drilldown to Resolve is now provided from the Computer FQDN column, and additional information is available for items in the Faults column.

Refreshed Launch Page

Tactical improvements have been made to the design of the SysTrack Cloud launch page, streamlining it for a more satisfying user experience. Users can now easily return to the launch page by clicking the Lakeside logo.

Added Support for Azure Virtual Desktop 2020

SysTrack’s integration with Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) has been updated to integrate with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) version 2.

Exporting Report Center Excel Data in .xlsx Format

Prior to SysTrack 10.3, tables exported from Report Center used .xls format with a 65536-row limit. Exporting in .xlsx format will now allow for over 1 million rows.

What’s New?

Collection and Display of VPN Performance Metrics

Data on the performance of VPN connections is now collected to aid in the analysis of remote work issues. VPN adaptor metrics are now included in the Network data in Resolve > Black Box, enabling improved diagnosis of connectivity problems.

Easy Copying of Single and Multiple Cells in Data Grids

You can now easily copy data from SysTrack’s numerous data grids. Just right-click the value to copy, then choose that individual cell or the entire row. Multiple cells and/or rows can also be selected and copied, either via a menu choice or keyboard shortcut.

Executive Insights Dashboard Updated

Enhancements to the new Executive Insights feature include clearer labels, better drilldown, and improved tooltips. Access to this estate-wide health and productivity overview information is controlled via the Cloud Edition’s Manage Group Features page.

iOS Agent General Availability

Lakeside has made the iOS Agent, designed for iPhones and iPads, generally available. It can be integrated with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.

SOC2 Type 1 Compliance

As part of an ongoing initiative, Lakeside has received its SOC2 Type 1 Attestation.

Windows 11 Support

SysTrack now provides support for Microsoft Windows 11.

What’s New?

Quick, Easy Access to Executive Insights

Busy IT executives can now simply click a link on SysTrack’s cloud landing page to view a new Executive Dashboard summarizing estate-wide digital employee experience (DEX). Information includes Health Score, Productivity, System Health Distribution, and Comparison with Similar Companies. Data segmented by department or division enables Group Health comparisons that reveal best and worst performance, while Group History and Ranking present Health trends among your various groups.

Web Applications Added to Resolve

Resolve’s Basic Tools now include a Web Apps page that provides new visibility into performance, errors, and usage for a customer-specified list of Web-based applications created in Configure. Performance data for the chosen Time Window includes average click-to-render times, latency, and processing times. Error details and usage information are also available.

Reduced Color Themes

SysTrack’s available user interface themes have been reduced to the two most popular selections: Dark and Light.

Matching Cloud Homepage Theme

For a consistent experience, the landing page for cloud tenants will now match the color theme set on the Configure > Administration page.

Action Builder Generally Available

Previously in Technical Preview, this feature enables customer administrators to package their own Actions for Automations and Collection Extensions in Configure, which they can then use with Assist and Prevent (AIOps) to gain full value from Lakeside’s automated remediations.

Improved Cloud Stability

The stability, reliability, and performance of SysTrack’s Cloud Edition have been significantly improved by using Azure technologies to enhance data storage and processing, providing better monitoring insights, and retiring deprecated technology.

Easier Access to Quick Start Guide

A convenient link to the SysTrack Cloud Edition Quick Start Guide has been added to the list of Support links section on the cloud homepage.

10.1 Release

What’s New?

New UI for Dashboard Browser

The carousel used to select dashboards has been replaced with a modern, scrolling interface that enables tags, categories, and personas for organizing and finding dashboards, along with search and sorting by name, modification date, amount favorited, or trending.

SQLite DB Tech Preview

To address limitations related to Jet and Local DB, the SysTrack Agent will be upgraded to utilize a more robust SQLite database. This support is currently available as a Technical Preview and is expected to be Generally Available before the end of the year.

Scalability Enhancements in the Cloud

To minimize the need to spread endpoints over multiple tenants and improve data consolidation, SysTrack Cloud Edition has been enhanced to support up to 175,000 devices per tenant in Phase I of an ongoing scalability initiative.

Citrix and VMWare Data Collection in the Cloud

SysTrack Cloud customers are now able to use Citrix and VMWare integrations similar to those available from the on-premises product. This builds upon our Cloud feature parity efforts while improving data collection for cloud customers using Citrix and VMWare.

Additional Features

Assist UX

The Performance area in Assist is now refreshed automatically (as in Resolve), making it easier for an IT Service Desk administrator to know whether remediation efforts have been successful. The User Experience score is now in a prominent location in the upper right of the Assist interface.

TrayApp Visibility

The Self Help function and related TrayApp can now be selectively disabled or hidden from view in the system tray. This allows the TrayApp to run in the background which provides the flexibility to use Engagements and Surveys without surfacing full Self Help functionality.

Cloud API Enhancements and Exposed Policies/Settings

Cloud parity includes ongoing improvements to SysTrack’s cloud APIs as well as the exposure in Configure of additional agent settings and controls for SysTrack administrators.

New Cloud Regions

To aid in cloud adoption while enabling compliance with data sovereignty laws, new Cloud instances are being provided from within the borders of France and the UAE.

Security Improvements

An increasing focus on platform security has resulted in improvements to the packaging of Automations, client- and server-side signature checking, and three other significant security fixes.

Updated Documentation

The Resolve User Guide (online Help) has been extensively updated, and distinct, platform-specific versions of the Configure User Guide are now delivered in the Cloud and on-premises versions of the product.

Pendo Integration

By providing insight into actual SysTrack Cloud Edition usage, Pendo will inform product definition, design, and documentation while helping identify and alleviate common usage problems.

Sensor Changes

Sensor descriptions continue to be reviewed and re-written where appropriate with over 50% already complete. New sensors include four related to WebEx, one for GPO synchronization, and five related to PVS. A detailed list of sensor updates is provided below.

Solutions Released

Lakeside was quick to release a Log4j Tactical Vulnerability Solution and plans at least 10 new Solutions during the first part of 2022.

SQL Server 2008 Support Dropped

SysTrack now requires a minimum of Microsoft SQL Server 2012, with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 recommended for performance reasons.

Prevent Launch

A rebranding of AIOps to Prevent with the addition of a new user experience and workflow for operational usage on the landing page. Introduces a prioritized list of Sensors organized by how impactful they are, with a more intuitive visualization to allow a faster understanding of the scope of issues and which to start with.

Cloud Organization

Updated cloud feature sets that are aligned to the personas of users who require different sets of applications for their job functions. Makes finding relevant content more intuitive for end-users and allows them to find content related to their job functions. Also allows administrators to control access to tools based on end-user persona.

Dashboard Builder Updates

The first step in updating the user experience of building dashboards within the product. Introduces the concept of templates with a library of pre-configured building blocks independently capable of displaying data related to a specific use case. Simplifies dashboard development for customers.

Assist Updates

Adding additional explanatory details to the Performance area, enabling the use of Engagements, adding a chart to summarize historical tool usage, and increasing the visibility of Automation errors in the Tools interface. Simplifies the process of understanding the impact of Automations while making it more clear to the service desk technician what Automations may need additional work.

Online Action Builder

Adding the ability for customer administrators to package their own Actions for Automations and Collection Extensions in Configure. Allows customers to build and manage their own Automations and Collection Extensions they can then use with Assist and Prevent (AIOps) to gain full value from our automated remediations. Action Builder is currently available as a Technical Preview on the Insiders platform. This feature will be Generally Available before the end of the year.

Cloud User Management

Allows a tenant administrator to invite a bulk list of users into specific SysTrack user groups. Streamlines the process of using the newly introduced persona-based features that allow an administrator to easily grant and control access to specific applications and functions.

Cloud Migration Toolkit

Provides Lakeside’s Customer Success and Cloud Ops teams with a set of scripts to consolidate and backup on-premises customer data for easier migration to the cloud. Lowers the barrier of cloud adoption for customers and allows them to migrate their key historical data and configurations.
