Neural Processing Unit (NPU) Assessment User Guide
IMPORTANT: NPU data is only collected from SysTrack agent 11.1 and higher.
Overview
This DEX Pack Lite will help you determine the applications in your environment that use the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) in the latest laptop devices.
You can identify which applications are using the NPU the most, and the use of applications by those who have and do not have NPUs in their systems.
Applications are ranked based on the percentage of total time that the application uses the NPU. That percentage is scaled based on the total usage of the application by systems with and without the NPU to show the potential application usage hours by a NPU system.
How This Feature Helps You
Some of the benefits you will get with the NPU Assessment DEX are:
-
You can discover the applications in your environment that use the NPU in the latest laptop devices.
-
Determine the applications that will drive the most NPU use across your desktop estate.
-
Deploy AI PCs to those who will benefit the most.
-
Out of the box NPU telemetry collection.
On the Screen
You can show or hide the about section.
You can go to the Dashboard viewer.
Click the question mark for a tooltip related to the corresponding information.
Click the down arrow to export the information to a .CSV file.
NPU Systems
This graph shows the systems that are equipped with an NPU and the count of the specific models.
You can hover over the graph lines to see the model and the system count.
Top 5 Applications Using NPU
This graph shows the top five apps, by hours, that have the potential to use NPU.
You can hover over the green graph lines to see the number of systems that do not have an NPU.
You can hover over the blue graph lines to see the number of systems that do have an NPU.
App NPU Usage
This data shows the applications in your environment that have the most potential to use an NPU.
The App NPU Usage grid shows each application and the split of systems using it with and without NPU.
It uses the % use of the NPU by each application where it runs on a system and an NPU is available and calculates the potential NPU use (total) across systems running that app without NPU. This information helps show the apps that will benefit the most from an NPU. The Selected App grid can be used to potentially prioritize the users that will benefit the most from an NPU.
Click each application to identify the users of that application that do not have access to a system with an NPU.
Click on a value in the systems with NPU column to show the systems running that app with the NPU.
Selected App - Systems Without NPU
This data shows the list of systems without an NPU for the selected application. It includes the primary user, total app hours, and total app hours in focus.
