11.8 Collection Changes User Guide

NOTE: This dashboard is available for a limited time. It will be deprecated after the 11.8 Cloud release.

Overview

This dashboard helps you identify roles in actively applied configurations that have specific collection items enabled. Starting with the 11.8 release, these items will be disabled by default and machines that currently collect them will stop doing so. The dashboard helps you review which roles will be affected so you can decide whether to re-enable any of the items after upgrading.

Actively Used Roles

This section will list roles that have one or more of the relevant collection items enabled. The list of the items is as follows:

  • Web Management:

    • Install Chrome extension

    • Install Chromium Edge extensions

    • Install Firefox extension

    • Install Internet Explorer extension

  • Inventory Management:

    • Collect Active Directory info

  • User Collection:

    • Collect Basic User info

    • Collect Users Organizational Unit

Roles with all of these items disabled do not appear in the dashboard.

Re-enabling the Collection Items

With the 11.8 release, we will introduce new factory roles called User Collection On and Web Collection On that will enable you to easily turn on the collection items listed above.
