A view is a custom query that the SysTrack agent runs against the database on each system. The agent uploads the view results to the Master System when it condenses data, so views provide more specific results than the condensed summary data alone. To create a view, see [Create and Manage Views](/documentation/docs/configure-views). ## Enable or Disable Views 1. Go to **Configure** > **System Configuration** > **Roles**. 2. Click the lock icon in the upper-right corner to unlock Configure for editing. 3. Select the role. 4. Select the **Views** tab. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/roles_views.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-08T16%3A44%3A34Z&se=2026-11-08T17%3A44%3A34Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=aNJrMDKNDC%2F8LJO94O6p%2Bo72CAY1UgjVAVMdpZeVksk%3D) 1. In the **Enable** column, select or clear the check box for each view. Systems that use this role run only the views that are enabled. Views marked **Always enabled** in the **Description** column cannot be cleared. All other views are cleared by default. 2. The **Views** table includes the following columns: 1. **System View**: The view name. These labels cannot be changed and items cannot be added or removed. 2. **Occurrence**: How often the view runs, for example **Every day**. 3. **Description**: What the view collects. 3. Click **Save Changes** at the top right of the screen. Systems that use the role apply the change the next time they read their configuration. To apply it right away, run **Read Configuration** on those systems. See [Operations: Command Dashboard](/documentation/docs/operations-command-dashboard).
