# vScape Environment Design Specifications

vScape is designed for viewing up to 5,000 systems in the environment at a time. Testing has shown that environments with ample performance can handle up to 25,000 systems, although performance begins to impact usability. When viewing more than 5,000 systems, performance may suffer and the interface may become unresponsive for extended periods.

Lakeside Software recommends that all virtual machines be placed on a single SysTrack Master System if possible. If you exceed the 5,000 system capacity for one SysTrack Master, use multiple Master Systems. vScape should be connected directly to these Master Systems. Virtual Center synchronization ([via SysTrack Deploy configuration](/documentation/docs/required-systrack-deploy-configuration-1)) should be configured on these Master Systems.
