# Import and Export Dashboards

If you want to move a dashboard from one server to another you can [export it by saving the dashboard file](/docs/use-the-dashboard-builder-toolbar-import-and-export-dashboards#Exporting), and then import it on the other server.

Options for importing dashboards include:

- [Importing a dashboard](/documentation/docs/import-and-export-dashboards-1#import-a-dashboard) into a currently opened dashboard, or into a new dashboard
- Importing pre-configured dashboards stored on the Lakeside Customer Portal from [SysTrack Kits](/documentation/docs/import-and-export-dashboards-1#import-a-dashboard-from-systrack-kits)

## Export a Dashboard

1. Click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/exportdash_button.png) (Export Dashboard) button on the Toolbar.
2. At the **Save As** dialog, select the location in which to save the dashboard file (.dash), and click the **Save** button.

## Import a Dashboard

You can import a saved dashboard file (.dash) or a import a dashboard from SysTrack Kits.

### Import a Saved Dashboard File

1. If you wish to import a dashboard click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/importdash_button.png) (Import Dashboard) button on the Toolbar. The Import dialog displays.

2. At the **Import** dialog box, click the **Select File** button to navigate to the dashboard file you wish to import, and click the **Open** button.
3. If you wish to import the dashboard into a currently opened dashboard, select the **Import into current dashboard** check box **OR** if you are importing into a new dashboard, leave this check box unchecked. If you are importing into a new dashboard, choose to either leave the default dashboard name in the **New Dashboard Name** field,or rename the new dashboard.
4. Click the **OK** button.

### Import a Dashboard from SysTrack Kits

SysTrack Kits provides a way to import Kits of pre-configured SysTrack files including dashboards from the Lakeside Customer Portal or a local site.

1. From the Dashboard Builder, click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/importdash_button.png) (Import Dashboard) button on the Toolbar. The Import dialog displays.
2. Click the **Go to SysTrack Kits** button.
