This video shows how the advanced discovery features of Prevent can help identify relationships between changes in the environment and sensor activity.
Video Transcript
The discovery tools in SysTrack Prevent help you identify the relationships between changes in your computing environment and the issues users experience. By analyzing correlations between changes and sensor activity, Prevent can identify probable causes of an issue, or whether a change actually improved performance. There are three discovery pages that examine this data from different perspectives.
The Root Cause Analysis page starts with the problem. It looks at newly activated sensors and identifies changes that occurred shortly before those sensors began triggering. Select a sensor from the Newly Activated Sensors list to see the changes that correlate with it. The higher the correlation percentage, the more likely that the change contributed to the issue. For software upgrades, you can also compare the newly installed version with the previous version. Selecting a change displays additional details, including a pie chart showing how many monitored systems were affected by the change and how many were not. Selecting a slice of the chart displays the systems in that category.
The Adverse Impact of Change page starts with the change instead. It displays common changes that have recently occurred across your environment. When you select a change, the Related Sensors section shows the sensors that were activated afterward, along with their correlation percentage, severity, and description. Selecting a sensor displays additional details, including a pie chart showing the percentage of systems where that sensor was newly activated within the last 30 days, not activated, or had already been active for more than 30 days. Selecting a slice of the chart displays the systems in that category.
Finally, the Change Performance page helps determine whether a change improved or degraded overall end-user computing performance. Use the Search field to locate a specific change. The Performance Before and After Change grid compares key performance metrics before and after the selected change.
Metrics that are highlighted with a green dot represent a significant improvement, while a red square indicates a significant decline in performance. In the Performance Details chart, blue represents performance before the change, and beginning at Day 0, the chart changes to green. Select any metric in the grid to display its trend in the chart.
