# Set Security Privileges

Privilege sets determine which SysTrack tools a user can access. These privilege sets are then assigned to users or groups in the Tools Access Security pane.

SysTrack Configure provides several pre-defined privilege sets. These predefined privilege sets cannot be edited. To assign users to a different level or combination of access, use a custom privilege set.

1. Ensure that the **Experience Level** slider is set high enough that the **Privilege Sets** category is visible.
2. Go to the **Privilege Sets** page.

> **NOTE**: Predefined privilege sets cannot be edited. Custom privilege sets, on the other hand, can be edited.
3. In the **Tools Access Security** pane, check or uncheck the **All Access** check box to allow for the specific privilege set. Some access groups can be expanded to provide more specific access.
4. Click the **+** (plus) icon in the **Tools Access Security** pane.
5. Drag users and/or groups from the **Active Directory Listing** to the **Added Groups/Users** list. Click **OK** when you are done.
6. Check the privilege set(s) that the user or group should have access to. Groups or users assigned to more than one privilege set will receive all the access granted by those sets.
7. Click **Save Changes** when you are done.

> [!CAUTION]
> **WARNING:** In new SysTrack installations you can remove the Administrators group which enables you to have full control over what appears in the Deploy and Configure lists. However, use caution when removing users or groups. If you delete all that have the **All Access** and **Deployment Tool Access** privilege sets, you will lose the access to SysTrack and you will need to reinstall it to restore access.

## Create a Custom Privilege Set

Create a privilege set that only allows the ability to view SysTrack dashboards.

1. Click the **Create Privilege Set** button.
2. Provide a name for the privilege set, and specify which default privileges to begin with. Click **OK**.
3. Check the access that the new privilege set should have. In this case we are creating a privilege set that allows access just to **Dashboard Viewer** by expanding the Dashboard access group, then checking the **Access** and **Viewer** options.
4. Once created, this privilege set is available in the **Tools Access Security** pane.
