# Security Alarms

Using this category on the Roles page Alarms tab, you can configure alarms to notify you when a system runs a new application. By default these alarms are not enabled.

The **Security** category is on the **Alarms** tab of a role (**Configure** > **System Configuration** > **Roles**). To turn these alarms on and change their time windows and profiles, see [Configure Alarms in a Role](/documentation/docs/configure-alarms-in-a-role).

## Security Alarms and Defaults

The **Security** category has these alarms. The **Default** column shows the factory values. A role can change them.

| Alarm | Description | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| New Application at Master | Monitors when a system runs an application that no system reporting to the Master has run before. | Off. |
| New Application on System | Monitors when a system runs an application that is new on that system. | Off. |
