You can add any counter that is available on a monitored system, and the local agent tracks it. The **Performance: Other** category is on the **Alarms** tab of a role (**Configure** > **System Configuration** > **Roles**). To turn these alarms on and change their limits, times, and profiles, see [Configure Alarms in a Role](/documentation/docs/configure-alarms-in-a-role). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/image(497).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-08T17%3A12%3A33Z&se=2026-11-08T18%3A12%3A33Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=iAGnTYSMBTHKw3OFGCZZ1ty2BHYgs00Z3dxIIFXIh9I%3D) ## Add a Counter to Performance: Other 1. On the **Alarms** tab of the role, click the + (plus) icon next to **Performance: Other**. 2. In the **Add New Setting** dialog, select a system in the **Model System** list. The list shows Windows systems and does not include master systems. The system that you select determines the available performance objects. 3. If the **Login** dialog opens, enter a **User Name** and **Password**, and click **OK**. This dialog opens only in SysTrack On-Premises, when the selected model system runs an agent older than 9.0. In cloud, such a system shows an error that asks you to upgrade the agent. 4. Select a **Performance Object** from the drop-down list. 5. Select a **Counter** from the drop-down list. 6. If appropriate, select an **Instance** from the drop-down list, and then click **Create**. 7. Repeat steps 1 to 6 for each additional performance counter that you want to add. 8. Set the values of each new counter. The settings are described in Performance Other Counter Settings. 9. Click **Save Changes** at the top right of the Roles page. ## Performance Other Counter Settings Each counter that you add under **Performance: Other** has the following settings on the **Alarms** tab. A new counter starts with the alarm turned off, **Interval** Summary, Trending, **Yellow Limit** 0 for 120 seconds, **Red Limit** 0 for 240 seconds, **Time Window** 18x6, and **Notification** and **Action** None. | Column | Description | | --- | --- | | Counter | The counter name. You cannot change the name after you add the counter. | | Instances | This value tells the database to which the counter information is being recorded to. | | Interval | The data levels to keep for the counter. Select one of seven options, for example **Summary, Trending** or **All Detail, Summary, Trending**. | | Operator | Determines whether greater than, less than, or equal to operator is assigned to the alarm value. | | Yellow Limit | This is the value that, when exceeded, will trigger a yellow alarm. | | Yellow Time (s) | How long, in seconds, the value must meet the **Operator** condition for the **Yellow Limit** (but not for the **Red Limit**) before a yellow alarm is triggered. | | Red Limit | This is the value that, when exceeded, will trigger a red alarm. | | Red Time (s) | How long, in seconds, the value must meet the **Operator** condition for the **Red Limit** before a red alarm is triggered. | | Time Window | Select a **Time Window** for the alarm. | | Notification | Select a **Notification** profile to use for the alarm notification settings that will be followed when the alarm is triggered. | | Action | Select an **Action** profile to use when the alarm is triggered. The configured actions will occur when the configured limits are exceeded. |
