Install the Browser Extension via Chrome Web Store

Prev Next

The Chrome Web Store always provides the latest version of the SysTrack browser extension, which supports Manifest V3.

Before You Begin (Windows and Linux Only)

On Windows and Linux systems, SysTrack automatically installs a browser extension for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome as part of the agent installation (see SysTrack Browser Extension).

Before installing the extension from the Chrome Web Store, you must disable the extension that ships with SysTrack.

If you do not disable the bundled extension:

  • Both extensions run at the same time

  • Duplicate web usage data is recorded

To prevent this issue:

  1. Go to Configure > System Configuration > Roles.

  2. In the lower section of the page, select Additional Settings > Web Management.

  3. Clear the browser installation checkboxes for Chrome and Edge.

  4. Save the changes.

Install the Extension from the Chrome Web Store

To install the SysTrack browser extension manually:

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store page for the SysTrack Web Collection extension. You must use the direct link because the extension is intentionally unlisted and does not appear in Chrome Web Store search results. The extension name is lsiwebhook.

  2. Select Get.

  3. Complete the installation.

No changes to the SysTrack agent are required for the extension to function correctly.

Deploy the Extension Using Group Policy

You can deploy the SysTrack browser extension across your organization using Group Policy for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Required Values

Use the following values when configuring Group Policy:

  • Extension ID: edbcgbpgfipjpfhkoapcafhpfpfjjadc

  • Update URL: https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx

Configure Group Policy

  1. Open the Group Policy Management Editor.

  2. Navigate to the policy setting for forced extension installation.

  3. Add the extension ID and update URL to ExtensionInstallForcelist.

  4. Save and apply the policy.

Applying this policy ensures that the SysTrack browser extension installs automatically on all devices governed by the policy.

Extension ID Reference

Be aware that two different extension IDs may appear in your environment.
