Current Issues

Prev Next

The Current Issues page highlights the top sensors requiring attention in your environment. If no dashboard is set up for Prevent, Current Issues is the default start page of your Prevent workflow. Issues are represented by graph points indicating severity and system count and are also listed along the left side of the page.

The greater the severity and number of systems affected, the deeper the color of the graph point.

Each sensor in the list displays the number of systems affected and the percentage of systems that are affected. The percentage calculation is the number of systems with the sensor currently active in the latest results divided by the number of systems in the selected group that are currently online, multiplied by 100 and rounded to the nearest whole number. The Current Issues page looks at sensor data from about the last 10 minutes. The exact period depends on how often the agent sends sensor results.

For details about running a tool in Prevent, see Tools.

  1. In Group, select a group.

  2. In Category, select a category. This step is optional. You can leave the default All Categories selected.

  3. Zoom in on an area of the graph by holding your mouse down and dragging.

  4. In Search, enter a sensor name, instance value, or category. While you search, matching sensors with no affected systems are also listed.

  5. In Sort By, select one of the following:

    • Impact

    • Number of Devices

The graph updates to display the settings you selected.

Select a Sensor

When you select a sensor in Current Issues, the systems grid shows the systems with that sensor currently active in the latest results. The number of systems in the systems grid matches the number of systems affected shown for that sensor in the left panel.

NOTE: Offline systems are not included in the number of systems affected, in the percentage, or in the systems grid.

On the right side of Current Issues, the map shows the locations of the systems with the sensor currently active. The historical graph shows the daily high for each day. A daily high can be lower or higher than the number of systems with the sensor currently active in the latest results.

When you click Take Action and select a tool, the number of eligible systems shows the number of systems currently online and that have the correct operating system for the associated tool. For example, if it is an automation for Windows and one of the systems with the sensor on is a Mac, that system is not eligible.

  1. Do one of the following:

    1. In the left panel, select a sensor.

    2. Hover over a graph point to see the issue represented and then click it to view details.

  2. The right side updates to display a description, geographic location(s), and a historical graph showing how many systems have been impacted in the past 7 days or, if you click 30d, the past 30 days. To open the Sensor Details page for a specific day, click that day in the historical graph. To add a sensor note, click Add Sensor Note. You need the Edit Sensor Notes permission to add a note.

  3. In the systems grid, all systems are selected by default. Clear the systems you do not want to include, and then click Take Action. The Select Tool dialog box displays.

The systems grid shows up to 10,000 systems. You need the Run Tools Manually permission to take action.

  4. Select a tool from the list. For more information, see Tools.

  5. Click Back to return to the main graph.
