For everything else about sensor notifications, see [Sensor Notifications](/documentation/docs/sensor-notifications). > [!NOTE] > **NOTE**: Access to the **Notifications** page is controlled by **Configure > Privilege Sets > Manage Privilege Sets > Configure > Configurations**. ## Configure Email Settings for Sensor Notifications SysTrack On-Premises sends sensor notification emails through an SMTP server that you set up in Configure. In cloud, SysTrack sends these emails without an SMTP server that you set up, so this setup applies only to On-Premises. Before you create sensor notifications, you must configure the settings for an SMTP server. If email settings are not configured, Configure shows the message "To set up sensor notifications, you must first configure your email settings." before the notifications list. 1. Go to **Configure** > **Sensor Configuration** > **Notifications**. 2. To edit Configure, click the lock icon at the top of the page. 3. Click the gear icon at the right of the screen. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/image(472).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-08T16%3A44%3A44Z&se=2026-11-08T17%3A44%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OLf4EhcgHvXRqrCMmf7yocMnRJFOciUufPLHwjUpnVE%3D) 4. Click **Configure Email Settings**. 5. Enter the **SMTP Outgoing Server** and the **Port** for the SMTP server. 6. Enter a **'From' Email Address**. Sensor notification email alerts are sent from this email address. 7. If the SMTP server requires authentication, select **Enable SMTP Authentication**. Then enter a valid **SMTP Username** and **SMTP Password**. 8. Click **Save**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/87d11426-6b1f-4b19-b593-b71e55a81af3/Images/Documentation/image(468).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-08T16%3A44%3A44Z&se=2026-11-08T17%3A44%3A44Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OLf4EhcgHvXRqrCMmf7yocMnRJFOciUufPLHwjUpnVE%3D) > [!TIP] > **TIP**: Click the gear icon next to **View Activated Notifications** to reconfigure the email settings for the SMTP server. If the SMTP server requires authentication, keep the **SMTP Password** up to date. If this password becomes outdated, SysTrack does not send email alerts. ## Recipients Field on the Create Notification Page In SysTrack On-Premises, the **Recipients** field on the **Create Notification** page does not list SysTrack users. Type-ahead search works on name or email address and finds only recipients that are already in the recipients list. If the search finds no results, click **+ Add** and enter the name and email address of the new recipient. You can also add and remove recipients on the **Recipients** tab of the main **Notifications** page. For other differences in recipients, see [Differences in Configure for On-Premises](/documentation/docs/onpremises-configure-differences-from-cloud).
