# Configure Password Protection

You can apply password protection to a role configuration.

1. In System Configuration, select **Roles**.
2. Click **Password**. The **Create New Password** dialog opens.

3. Enter a **New Password**, and confirm it in the **Reenter Password** field. Then click **Set Password**.
4. To remove the password protection, enter the password if necessary in the Password field, and then deselect the **Password** check box.
