# Collection Extensions

If you want to collect a certain dataset that is not being collected already, you can create a Collection Extension to collect that data and add into the agent database. Collection Extensions use Actions that are specifically created as Collection Extensions.

> [!NOTE]
> **NOTE**: Collection Extensions are currently supported only on Windows, as they rely on specific SysTrack PowerShell cmdlets.

There are two types of Collection Extensions:

- Collection tables: These tables receive continuous, time-correlated updates.
- Inventory tables: These tables store static data that is periodically updated, such as information about installed software.
